“Old Flames” and “A Kiss Goodbye,” award-winning screenplays by Yvonne Paretzky
Old Flames is the 6x award-winning feature screenplay and television pilot by Yvonne Paretzky. Can love, friendship, and ritual hold us tight enough to choose life?
Old Flames, the television pilot: For aging friends and lovers, memories, secrets, lies, hopes, and fears take on enhanced proportions as the light at the end of the tunnel gets brighter.
Why a TV series? I fell in love with the characters in the feature screenplay. They’re non-WASP boomers who have seen it all, done it all, and they’re still standing—but not for very much longer.
“A Kiss Goodbye” is winner of the award for Best Super Short Screenplay at the New York Script Awards. After 50 years of marriage, Liz and Harry, both burdened by memories of other lovers, confront love, loss, and the beauty of letting go.
